As the rain pounded against the windows, Sarah tried to stay focused on stocking the shelves and organizing the cooler. But she couldn't shake the feeling that someone, or something, was watching her. She kept catching glimpses of movement in the corners of her eye, but every time she turned to look, there was nothing there.
Just as Sarah was about to close up for the night, the door chimes jingled and a hooded figure stepped inside. Sarah's heart raced as the stranger approached the counter. But as they drew closer, Sarah realized it was just an old man, soaking wet and shivering.
She offered him a towel and a cup of coffee to warm up while she finished closing up the store. As they chatted, Sarah couldn't help but feel like the old man was hiding something. His eyes kept darting around the store, as if he was searching for something.
Just as Sarah was about to ask the old man if he needed any help, the lights flickered and went out. Sarah's heart skipped a beat as she fumbled in the dark for her phone. When she finally found it, she dialed 911 and whispered into the phone.
"Please send help. Someone, or something, is in the store with me."
As she waited for the police to arrive, Sarah could hear the sound of footsteps approaching. She backed into a corner and tried to make herself as small as possible, hoping whoever, or whatever, it was wouldn't find her.
